Obtain or enhance the management skills required to bring projects in on time and within budget, while at the same time preparing to obtain the PMP® or CAPM® certification.
Learn live online from experienced project managers, who have put PMI's principles and practices to use for many years. The results of successfully completing coursework in this program will be visible in your overall job performance, leadership effectiveness, risk analysis, decision-making capabilities, and improved management style. This will greatly enhance your successful project completions.
The curriculum is based on an organized sequence of courses that cover the Project Management Institute's (PMI's) material in the 6th Edition of Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), the current basis for the Certification Exam Content Outlines. CSUDH’s program is constantly updated to stay in sync with the various editions of the PMBOK® Guide and PMI's exam expectations. In addition, this program, consisting of 66 class hours, goes well beyond the content of many PMP® Exam Prep courses, typically consisting of only about 35 hours of class time.
As a result, those who pursue PMI's certification, will be better prepared to sit for the PMP® or CAPM® certification exams. Recognized domestically and internationally, the PMP® Certification has set a standard for excellence in project management. Obtaining the PMP® designation distinguishes you as an expert in the profession. The CAPM® certification provides an entry into the project management profession for those who do not have prior work experience in project management.
This program also qualifies for the education requirement to qualify for PMI's Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM®) examination as well as PMI's Project Management Professional (PMP®) examination.
A certificate is awarded by California State University Dominguez Hills upon successful completion of five required courses in the Project Management program.
