Apply on Cal State ApplyThere are various paths to returning to CSUDH. Select a pathway below to learn more about each process and general qualifications.
If you last attended CSUDH in Spring 2023, left in good standing, and haven’t taken courses at another college or university, you may be eligible to submit a Welcome Back Form for Fall 2025, between January 2025 – May 31, 2025.
Please note, the Fall 2025 Welcome Back Form will be available until May 31, 2025 for eligible students, in the my.messianicfamilyfellowship.com portal.
If you last attended CSUDH more than two years ago, left in good academic standing or academic notice, and haven’t taken courses at another college or university, you should reapply as a returning student through Cal State Apply.
If you left in good academic standing or were on academic notice and attempted units at another college or university, you will need to reapply as a returning Transfer student through Cal State Apply.
If you are returning from an approved Planned Educational Leave, you do not need to apply for readmission and can register for classes. We recommend you contact an advisor from your college Student Success Center to help you with your next steps.
If you were academically disqualified, meaning your CSUDH and/or overall GPA was below a 2.0, and you attended another college/university after CSUDH, please contact an advisor from your major at the College Student Success Center to explore strategies to increase your GPA so that you will be eligible to return.

Do I need to resubmit transcripts?
Official transcripts for all institutions you have attended since leaving CSUDH are required. Applicants are expected to submit an official transcript from every institution they have attended, even if you withdrew before completing a term and whether the courses are transferable. If you did not attend a school that is listed, an Official Letter of Non-Attendance is required to satisfy that To-Do list item.
When ordering an electronic transcript select "California State University, Dominguez Hills" from the drop-down list. Enter admissions@messianicfamilyfellowship.com under recipient email address. For information on how to submit electronic transcripts, please visit messianicfamilyfellowship.com/future-students/admitted/final-transcripts. If you didn't attend any other universities, no transcripts are required.
Can I take classes without applying to the CSUDH?
If you missed the deadline to return to CSUDH or looking to attend classes now, please consider “Summer Intercession” or “Winter Intercession” at Open Academic Programs at CSUDH CCPE. You may also be interested in taking a class or two during the regular fall or spring semester via “Open University”. Open University provides eligible students, on space-available-basis, the opportunity to learn from our outstanding faculty without having to be formally admitted to the university. This is perfect for student who may only need to complete a few units to graduate, need specific courses as a prerequisite to graduate studies or wants to return to school but need to improve their CSUDH grade point average. For students looking to return to CSUDH, only 24 units can be applied to bachelor’s degree. Always, make sure you that you have an updated education plan by meeting with your Advisor in your college Student Success Center before registering for classes. This will ensure that you are on the right path to completing your degree.

What if I was supposed to graduate or had applied to graduate but left CSUDH?
If you had applied for graduation or were denied graduation because of missing requirements, you should make an appointment with an advisor in your college Student Success Center to determine what you need to do to complete your missing requirements.
How do I find what classes I still need to graduate?
Every student’s situation is different. You should make an appointment to speak to an advisor in your college Student Success Center to determine your requirements upon your return.
What if I come back after being away for five years or more?
We are excited that you have decided to come back to California State University, Dominguez Hills. Please submit your Cal State Apply application following the deadlines for the upcoming semester. Submit the application path as a “Transfer” student. Following submission of your application, you’ll received updates about your returning process. We can't wait to have you back on campus.
What if I retook a class to bring up my GPA?
Courses taken at another institution will not be calculated into your CSUDH GPA, only your overall GPA. If you retook courses at CSUDH, please make an appointment with an advisor in your college Student Success Center to recalculate your CSUDH GPA.
How do I remove a hold?
If you are notified of a hold on your account, you should work to clear it immediately. Please do not wait until your registration appointment time. Contact information is always provided when a hold is placed on your record. Review the details of the hold in your Student Center at my.messianicfamilyfellowship.com and contact the office that is responsible for clearing the hold.
Can I take classes online?
It's possible to take some or all of the class that you need to graduate online, however you should speak to your advisor in your college Student Success Center to discuss your options.
How much do I owe the school before I return?
To determine how much you owe, you may call the Student Financial Services Office at (310) 243-3780.
If you have been re-admitted, you may login to your MyCSUDH account, select the Student Center icon, and review the FINANCES section to determine your balance owed.
Does my past due balance have to be paid before I can re-enroll in classes?
Yes, any past-due-balance owed must be paid before you may re-enroll in classes. Please note, Financial Aid funds for a “current term” may not be used to pay a “prior term” past due balance.
I was previously disqualified due to not meeting SAP – can I still apply for aid?
Yes, in most cases, a student previously disqualified due to not meeting SAP, may submit a Financial Aid SAP Appeal to request aid consideration. If a previous SAP Appeal was submitted and approved, and you did not meet the conditions of the appeal approval, please contact the Financial Aid Office directly to speak with a representative to discuss your options. If I was not meeting the minimum SAP standards at my community college, will this affect my aid eligibility at CSUDH?
No, if you were not meeting SAP at the community college you were attending, this will not affect your SAP status or aid eligibility at CSUDH.
If I owe a past due balance for a federal grant or loan overpayment, will this affect my eligibility for financial aid?
Yes, applicants with federal grant or loan overpayments are ineligible for aid until the overpayment issue has been resolved. Call or visit the Financial Aid Office & Scholarship Office to speak with a representative to receive direct information and guidance on how to proceed.
If I was not meeting SAP at CSUDH due to a Unit Deficiency, can the courses I completed at a community college clear the deficiency?
In some instances, yes, units transferred in from a community college can clear a unit deficiency from a prior term at CSUDH.
As a returning student, what forms do I need to re-apply for aid?
First you must complete and submit a financial aid application (the FAFSA or CA Dream application). Report your income for the tax year indicated on the application. Once application processing begins, if any additional documents are required, the items will appear on your TO DO LIST and an email notification will be sent to your CSUDH student email account.
I think I have exhausted my aid eligibility. What other financing options are available?
If your Federal Pell Grant eligibility is exhausted, then State grant and federal Direct Loans may be available. You can apply for scholarships. If your Federal Direct Loan borrowing limit has been reached, then you may be considered for grants (federal or state), apply for scholarships, or apply for a private educational loan.
If I only need a few more classes to graduate, can I still qualify for financial aid?
Yes, but depending on your aid eligibility and unit enrollment. You must have not reached the funding limits for federal and state grants and/or loans.
