Teatro Dominguez, our multi-cultural theatre company, connects all areas of diversity, gender, age, and offers support and fundraising events for causes such as victims from Katrina, women’s shelters, cancer survivors, etc. Also, many of the plays and readings are written by students and faculty involved in Teatro. Many of these plays are performed in elementary schools with a focus on educating students about current events. Teatro Dominguez, formed in 1991 by Professor Bill Deluca, serves as a university-wide community service program dedicated to enhancing cross-cultural understanding on campus and in the surrounding community. Students from many disciplines throughout the university work with Theatre Arts students to create educational programs that perform in local elementary schools.
