Stay Home
Do not leave your home, except to get medical treatment. As much as possible, separate yourself from others in your home. Visit the CDC website for more information on how to protect others when you are ill.
Call First for Mild Symptoms
Call your healthcare provider or the CSUDH Student Health Center (310-243-3629) if you:
- Experience mild symptoms associated with COVID-19 (fever, cough)
- Have been in close contact with someone known to have been infected by COVID-19
Do not go to the emergency room, urgent care, or the CSUDH Student Health Center. Call first to receive medical guidance.
Get Tested
CSUDH offers free testing kits for students, faculty, and staff who are experiencing symptoms or have had close contact with a known COVID-19 case.

The City of Carson, in partnership with ushealthfairs.org, is offering free drive-up testing for COVID-19. Results will be sent to you within 36 hours. Please book your testing appointment online.
Los Angeles County is offering free testing for county residents with COVID-19 symptoms. Check your eligibility and schedule your testing appointment online.
When You Need Immediate Help
These are the CDC's emergency warning signs for COVID-19. Seek immediate medical attention for these symptoms:
- Difficulty breathing
- Chest pressure/pain
- Confusion or inability to arouse
- Bluish lips/face

How can I protect myself and others?
All Californians aged 6 months and older are now eligible for the COVID-19 vaccination.
Good personal hygiene is another defense against COVID-19 and other flu-like illnesses. Please follow these preventive steps recommended by the CDC:
- Limit close contact with individuals who are sick
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Wash your hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- If you are unable to wash your hands, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Use your sleeve if a tissue is not available; avoid using your hands.
Stay home if you have respiratory or influenza-like symptoms, and call your doctor or the Student Health Center (310-243-3629) for medical guidance before visiting either facility.

What if I get sick with COVID-19 and can't complete my courses this semester?
Per the Incomplete Grade policy: a grade of Incomplete may be assigned if a student is unable to complete a definable portion of course work and indicates that there is still a possibility of credit upon completion of this work.
Students are allowed up to one year to complete the outstanding coursework.
